School activities play a significant role in the holistic development of students. Co-curricular activities are the application part of skills learned and achieved during academic activities. It enhances our social skills, intellectual skills, collaborative skills etc.

At DPS Aligarh, we settle for student initiated activities that encompasses everything possible under the sun. The range of activities offered include

Art and Craft- The vibrancy of the colours and the intricate and minute evolvement of creative initiatives seem to paint the wall of the Art Gallery. Students throng the very premises of the Art Gallery to relish upon the feast of colours and patterns. Inter House and Intra House activities are a common sight every Wednesday.

Music and Dance- Nothing soothes the wary soul more than music and nothing inspires the soul greater than music. The faculty entrusted with the sublimity of music and dance has always managed to inspire a few souls to produce Musicians and Dancers, lime lighted at every event. Apart from the School activities the students have also held the school flag high at different Inter DPS events as well as Inter School Events at both state and national level.

Theatrics and Public Speaking - Regular activities like Extempore, Speech, Debate, One act plays etc have added to the grandeur of multi Lingual character of the schools. The Language Dept remains at its toes to sharpen the oratory and acting skills of the students. These activities have also rendered in the development of presentation skill.

  • FESTIVERSE…THE CELEBRATION OF FREEDOM (CHILDREN'S DAY)
  • “Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future”

    The most happening event of the town  Festiverse…..The celebration of freedom  was organized at Delhi Public School Aligarh on 13th November, DPS Aligarh opened its gates for fun and colourful stalls of apparels, games, edibles to relish and tried to fill lives with happiness and new memories.The event was inaugurated by honourable DIG Mr. Deepak Kumar and his Gorgeous wife Ms.Moni Sandilya alongwith the revered guest, our very own Ms. Priya Jain .

    This event ispired everyone to let their inner child bloom and celebrate the  freedom of one's soul, learn and Smile  at the same time.. This event provided a much needed platform and was highly beneficial in strengthening the parent-child relationship. Our respected Principal welcomed all with open arms and precious words of wisdom.

    The teachers of DPS Aligarh showcased a beautiful musical performance which was loved by everyone. There was also a surprise performance by a talented student of class 2.Talking about the stalls,every stall stood unique to itself and the teachers left no stones unturned to make their stalls the bestest. These kinds of events encourages individuality and fills positivity in our hearts and minds.

  • INTER HOUSE SPORTS COMPETITION 2022-23
  • "Victory is in the quality of competition and not the final score"

    Sports and co-curricular activities ensure holistic development of students by providing learning experiences that are an extension of core educational and developmental experiences. These activities facilitate sportsman spirit, improve physical endurance, promote healthy competition, and foster sporting proficiency levels of students.

    Keeping this in the mind, DPS Aligarh organized various Intraclass and Inter house Sports Competition in the Month of November and December. The school organized number of competitions like 50m race, 100m race, long jump ,hurdle race, shuttle run and ring race for all the different classes. Interhouse Basketball Competition attracted a lot of attention. Students of class IX to XII played extremely well.

    Apart from the track disciplines we also had a couple of field events as well as Interhouse chess tournament and Table - Tennis tournament. Results were announced in the special assembly. Principal Mrs. Arti Jha appreciated the efforts of the Teachers and congratulated the winners. She appreciated the participation of all the participants.

  • DIWALI CELEBRATION 2022-23
  • “Life shouldn't only be lived, it should be celebrated.”

    Incorporating this beautiful thought, Delhi Public School Aligarh celebrated an early Diwali on October 21, Friday with an array of performances in its special assembly. All classes, from Nursery to XII assembled at the ground for this special occasion. The celebration started with a special prayer and prayer song, followed by sharing the thought of the day, news across the world and the significance of celebrating the festival of lights to fight all our battles against the dark. Diwali, which is also believed to be the longest night is celebrated in not only all parts of India, but also in countries like Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan among several others.

    People participate in festivities, sharing sweets, memories and time with each other during this special occasion. The Principal Mrs. Arti Jha encouraged the students to 'declutter' by sharing what they no longer need with someone who might find it useful in this Diwali. She also added how it is important to understand the significance of this festival, why it is being celebrated not just in India but also in several other countries across the globe. The event also witnessed a special song and dance performance by senior students. The award for the Face of the Month made this occasion even more special, as students were awarded for their exemplary work or contribution to the school during the months of August and September. The event which witnessed an overwhelming number of participants turned out to be a mood booster, as well as a great kickstart to Diwali holidays.

  • INTER HOUSE FANCY DRESS COMPETITION (CLASS – 2nd) 2022-23
  • “The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless”

    DPS Aligarh organised a fancy dress competition for the Grade II with the theme of Ramayana.The children dressed as the characters from Ramayana were brilliant in their own way. It was a delight from start to finish with children, in an array of glittering costumes including that of Rama ,Sita , and Ravan mouthing famous dialogues of them, leaving the audience enthralled.Through this activity kids were given a chance to connect with mythology. They were all smartly dressed up and took part with much enthusiasm. The students presented themselves by sharing information about the characters they depicted.

    Ms .Suman Singh was the judge appointed for the event, talking about the competition she said “Ramayana has always been an important part and parcel of our Hindu Culture. The great epic teaches about various virtues to be followed in our lives to make it worth living”.

    The newness and adoption of western culture has somewhere effected the knowledge of Our great epics .By these theme students were able to get into the skin of the Gods and Goddesses.

  • INTER HOUSE FANCY DRESS COMPETITION (CLASS – 1ST) 2022-23
  • “The most beautiful world is always entered through imagination.”

    Although it's thought as merely a fun activity , fancy dress is actually quite good for kids, especially for preschoolers and kids who are still developing their vocabulary and imagination. On October 13, 2022, DPS Aligarh held a fancy dress competition for the Grade I pupils in order to foster creativity, ingenuity, and self-assurance. The students showed off their diversity and participated in great numbers. The fancy dress contest had "Nature" as its theme.It was great way to make them aware about the conservation of nature.

    Ms Shalini Jain was appointed as the judge for the event.She enlightened the kids by making them aware of the current situation and the changes in climatic pattern.Furthermore she also told them about the various ways to conserve their environment and keep it clean and green.
