School activities play a significant role in the holistic development of students. Co-curricular activities are the application part of skills learned and achieved during academic activities. It enhances our social skills, intellectual skills, collaborative skills etc.

At DPS Aligarh, we settle for student initiated activities that encompasses everything possible under the sun. The range of activities offered include

Art and Craft- The vibrancy of the colours and the intricate and minute evolvement of creative initiatives seem to paint the wall of the Art Gallery. Students throng the very premises of the Art Gallery to relish upon the feast of colours and patterns. Inter House and Intra House activities are a common sight every Wednesday.

Music and Dance- Nothing soothes the wary soul more than music and nothing inspires the soul greater than music. The faculty entrusted with the sublimity of music and dance has always managed to inspire a few souls to produce Musicians and Dancers, lime lighted at every event. Apart from the School activities the students have also held the school flag high at different Inter DPS events as well as Inter School Events at both state and national level.

Theatrics and Public Speaking - Regular activities like Extempore, Speech, Debate, One act plays etc have added to the grandeur of multi Lingual character of the schools. The Language Dept remains at its toes to sharpen the oratory and acting skills of the students. These activities have also rendered in the development of presentation skill.

  • SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON CHRISTMAS 2021-22
  • “Christmas waves a magic wand over the world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.”

    Every time we love, every time we give, its Christmas”. Christmas is truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of joy for those who need it more … Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It’s a time when family and friends come together and remember the good things they have.

    The much awaited festival of Christmas was celebrated with fervour and zeal by Ganga House on 23 rd December, 2021. The students presented an array of interesting programmes. The school echoed with Christmas carols and holy hymns sung melodiously by the school choir ushering in the festive season. Tejaswini presented a beautiful and mind-striking thought which emphasized that Christmas was more than just Santa, cards, toys or gifts under the Christmas tree. The true meaning of the Yuletide spirit which lay in the joy of giving and helping those who are less fortunate . This was followed by some interesting facts which were delivered by Riddhi.

    The children were filled with joy and excitement as Santa alongwith beautiful dancers came dancing to the tune of Jingle Bells. To make the students aware about the latest happenings around the world Arpit informed the news .

    At last Madam Principal wished the children and their families Merry Christmas . She thanked all the children , teachers and supporting staff also for co-operating , making this event successful and for spreading joy and cheer by contributing whole heartedly .

    The message of the assembly was loud and clear – “Come let us embrace the spirit of Christmas by bringing joy and happiness into someone’s life”..

  • TRICOLOR SALAD DECORATION COMPETITION 2021-22
  • Salad freshens without enfeebling and fortifies without irritating.

    Tricolor salad making competition was held at Delhi Public school, Aligarh for class 6. The objective behind the competition was to inculcate healthy habits and awareness regarding the choice of food among youth. The participants’ creativity was revealed through beautiful designs and patterns formed with different mouthwatering salads.

    The students displayed copious types of both vegetables and fruits salads using commonly available ingredients. The main focus of the competition was not only the preparation of salads but also upon their artistic presentation which carried an aesthetic aspect.

  • HINDI POEM COMPETITION 2021-22

    Delhi public school celebrated the 75th Independence Day with great zeal and fervour all week. The primary students of class V participated in Hindi Poem Recitation competition on the theme of patriotism. (Mera 21st century ka Bharat).

    The Hindi Department organised this events to keep the flame of patriotism burning in the hearts of the students.

    The competition inspired the young poets to come forward and recite .The students came up with different poems on the theme and recited them with great fondness and zeal for the country. They enjoyed the perfection of expression, thoughts, emotions, rhythm and music of words.

    The chief guest then adorned the show by her appreciative kind words wherein she admired the zeal of students and efforts put in training them by the faculty. Sir Swapnil Jain, the Pro-Vice Chairman, Delhi Public School, Aligarh, in his address said, “Students should be motivated to do better in life without being forced into doing something. They should have the time to relax their minds rather than being a part of a never ending race. The students should be able to enjoy their childhood and their time spent in Delhi Public School Aligarh. The ceremony ended with Vote of Thanks rendered by the Head Boy, Chetanya Raj Gautam of Class VI C.

  • FAVOURITE OLYMPIANS ACTIVITY 2021-22
  • The Olympics encompass the value of honesty, determination, hard work, and self-discipline. And last but not least, it helps different athletes represent the core values of their country.

    Olympians are like the pillars of country which not only raise the country but also help to develop it.

    The Hindi Department organised this events to keep the flame of patriotism burning in the hearts of the students.

    In order to inculcate respect towards Olympian, an activity was conducted in Class 3 and 4 in which students pasted the picture of their favourite Olympian and wrote about them.

  • FANCY DRESS COMPETITION CLASS 1st & 2nd 2021-22
  • Values are an integral part of our life and to contribute to this endeavor of celebrating freedom, Class 1 and 2 conducted Fancy dress competition with the theme – Freedom Fighters. It was a salute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our nation from our future leaders . The students dressed as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Rani Laxmi Bai, Jawahar Lal Nehru , Chandra Shekhar Azad, proud Indian citizen etc., and spoke few lines about them. The students were excited and displayed their best to make this competition a relevant one.

    Tiny tots were blooming with the zeal and enthusiasm.

  • Inhale the future, exhale the past

    Olympians are like the pillars of country which not only raise the country but also help to develop it.

    Delhi Public School Aligarh focuses on the physical, cognitive and psychosocial development of the students. To bring awareness about the physical well-being Yoga activities for young learners of PG-II were organised. Students performed enthusiastically and showed interest in maintaining fitness at such a tender age. They performed ‘Om chanting’, ‘Surya namaskar’, ‘Flexibility show’, ‘Balancing the body’, etc on the occasion of Yog Diwas.

  • CLASS COMPETITIONS 2021-22
  • The inherent talent of students of Delhi Public School Aligarh is nurtured through a plethora of co- curricular activities and competitions. To develop creativity the students are exposed to various competitions ranging from poem recitation to story writing, show & tell to poetry composition etc. For the same certain class competitions were organized from Playgroup to Class VI. Class PG & Nursery had Poem recitation where 7 toddlers gave wonderful presentations. Class Prep had Show & Tell competition. 16 students from Prep came up with great performances. Classes I & II had Hindi and English Story Telling competitions respectively. From Class I there were 23 participants whereas in Class II there were 14 story tellers who put a magical spell on the viewers. Class III had English handwriting competition. 33 students showcased their calligraphic skills in it. Class IV had Hindi handwriting competition in which 28 students participated. Class V was given the task of writing story with “Honesty” as the theme. 9 story writers impressed the judges with their writing skills. In Class VI the students were asked to compose their own poetry and the theme was “Nature”. We had 11 budding poets creating a wonderful world of imagination through their nature poetry. All the participants were outstanding. But as the rule says there are few who excel and emerge as winners. So, here are the results of the same-:

    Although we do not require a particular day to express love to our father, Father’s Day is indeed an opportunity to showcase it. Father is the only one who inspires his child the most and also one who the child looks upto and acknowledge in every possible way.

    Delhi Public School Aligarh never misses any opportunity to instill family values in the students.

    To encourage the tiny tots to showcase their love for their handsome dads, an activity was conducted in classes PG- II –“ SELFIE WITH MY DAD”

  • WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2021-22
  • Delhi Public School Aligarh takes initiatives in every aspect to encourage its students to get involved in environment saving enterprise.

    Few activities were planned and conducted on World Environment Day on 5th of June in various classes. Students participated enthusiastically. Classes PG, Nursery & Prep. Toddlers drew flowers/plants using different seeds on a sheet paper.17 students participated and showcased their talent. Classes I & II created a scene of the sea in the form of collage using different materials available at home. 17 and 21 students from I & II respectively participated in it. Classes III & IV did tree plantation where 22 from class III and 17 from class IV students laid the foundation of green planet and gave their contribution. Classes V & VI were the most talented group who converted the waste plastic bottles in beautiful creative pieces. 13 creative hands from Class V and 17 from Class VI showcased their creativity using the waste plastic bottles.

  • MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION 2021-22

    I am sending her ,a hand to hold,
    Came last night in my dream He told!

    Words cannot express the emotions that a mother carries for her children deep in her heart. She works for the family recklessly without demanding anything in return. A day can never compensate her endless efforts. Mother’s Day was celebrated on 9th of this May as a small effort to make her realise the pivotal role she plays in the family. The students from PG to Class VI did various activities to show their love and concern for their mothers. We present to you the collage of beautiful pics sent by our little darlings with their beautiful MOMS!!!

  • EARTH DAY CELEBRATION (CLASSES – PG – II) 2021-22
  • Earth Day is observed on April 22 consistently to raise awareness for Earth’s environment. The theme of Earth day 2021 is ‘Restore Our Earth’.

    We at Delhi Public School Aligarh believe in imparting values for holistic development of the students. The activities conducted on Earth Day were to encourage them to reflect on what we are doing to make our planet a more sustainable and living place. The climate change and the pandemic have reminded us of the harm we’ve caused. Thus, we must Restore Our Earth not just because we care about the natural world, but because we live on it. Keeping the theme in mind various activities were conducted.

    In Classes PG-II , total 61 students participated( Class PG – 1; Nur.- 4; Prep- 8 ; I- 21 ; II- 27) The students participated enthusiastically and showed incredible creativity through their activities like making a flower with dry leaves, making an animal with dry leaves etc.
